Captain Toady’s Tartar Dill
Tartar Sauce, Packed full of Flavor!
Captain Toady’s Tartar Dill sauce is packed full of flavor and has the texture one would expect from a great tartar sauce. There’s a taste that made me think of pickles, but I see no pickles on the label. The white wine vinegar and regular white vinegar they used provide just enough zing to without overpowering the whole experience. There’s a some small pieces which may be red bell peppers that provide the pickle like crunch. The dill really gives it a nice flavor that sweeps over the whole sauce. I have had tartar sauces before that almost taste like straight mayonnaise, but this is not one of those. On the label it shows that there’s an assortment of fruit used to make this. I noticed a sweet citrus taste to it which was produced by the lemon juice they used while they balanced out the tartness with other fruits such as peach. This is more than the average tartar sauce. This is much better! When shopping for tartar sauce, there isn’t always an assortment to choose from. I actually found this at Natural Grocers. This brand though sometimes appears in regular stores. I really recommend giving this a try the next time you’re looking for tartar sauce.

Tartar sauce with the perfect texture!
This tartar sauce is definitely not mayonnaise at all. I know what Mr. Boyd was talking about because a lot of tartar sauces and horseradish sauces are just that. Not only is this tartar sauce quite flavorful, it uses better ingredients than some others. For some reason companies often like to put high fructose corn syrup in everything. As far as I am concerned, that ingredient is quite harmful and usually made from GMO corn. So, this does not have that, and that’s a win for me! Sure, some may say it isn’t that healthy, but they’re missing the point. Sometimes you want a great tartar sauce that’s tasty enough to pair with your favorite foods. This tartar sauce pairs really well with fried fish, prawns, and even fries and tots. To me it’s one of those fun sauces that I have every once in a while. If you try this out, I think you will enjoy it!
