Full Flavored Cacao
For all you chocolate fans out there, this cacao is something to consider. This cacao powder has a nice fluffy and fresh feel to it. You can tell they did an excellent job keeping it fresh when they packaged it. To start off, you can make hot cocoa with it for those rainy days. You’re definitely going to want to add sugar or sweetener of your choice to it as it has a really strong flavor. I made some, but I used water instead of milk or a milk replacement. I found that the 2 Tbsp. they called for was too much. I ended up having to add more sugar than I should of as a result. I suggest 2 parts sweetener to 1 part cocoa and see from there how it is for you. Where this really shines though is in recipes that call for cocoa. Simply use the same amount you would from another brand and see the results. When used to make chocolate frosting, this will really light up the dessert! The amount of chocolate flavor this can provide for desserts is incredible! Chocolate or cocoa more specifically, is said to contain caffeine. I noticed on the package that this contains 49mg of caffeine per serving. They say a serving is 2.5 tbsp, so it adds up fast. So that’s one reason chocolate is known to be uplifting. Although I didn’t see it on the bag, cocoa is also high in antioxidants which is great for your health. Overall, I recommend this organic cacao powder because it’s packed full of flavor and really brings recipes to life. If you try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

An Evening Pick-Me-Up
How is cacao powder an evening pick-me-up? This cacao powder naturally contains 49 mg of caffeine per serving. They say a serving is 2.5 tablespoons. For me, I like to use about 2 tablespoons of this to make hot cocoa. I put this cacao powder in my mug and place it under the pod coffee maker. Then fill with hot water using the coffee machine, and mix up the chocolate. Then I add 2 tablespoons of organic sugar and a little bit of vanilla extract. Then stir really well with a spoon. Then I enjoy a wonderful tasting mug of hot cocoa. For those who prefer a darker chocolate experience, they may want to use a little less sugar. To me, it’s plenty strong and flavorful using a 50/50 ratio. So with 2 tablespoons of this cacao powder it provides just under 40 mg of caffeine. So this makes a perfect evening pick-me-up because it’s just enough to keep you going a little longer without keeping you up too late. This is really good cacao powder! Chocolate Frosting Cacoa Excellence!
I decided to try out this cacao by making a cake. I made everything from scratch. I did follow some online recipes which are fairly common for what I made. I was looking for a white or yellow cake recipe and I came across one called a ‘Heavenly White Cake‘. If you look it up, there’s plenty of those out there. I didn’t have a cake flour like it called for, but I did sift the flour 3 times as people suggested to do. Sifting removes the clumps and fluffs it up for fluffier baked goods. The recipe didn’t call for any frosting at all, but what’s a cake without frosting? I found a chocolate frosting recipe which is very common. The main ingredients are powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa. This cacao more than exceeded my expectations. It made the most flavorful frosting I’ve ever had. I’m not a professional baker, but I am including photos from my project. You don’t have to be a professional in order to bake, it just takes learning, practice, and more learning. The cake was quite delicious and a big part of that was this cacao. I recommend it.
